I have decided to start blogging finally. I have been asking my brother for sometime to give me a blog on our site and I got tired of waiting..
I'm second grade teacher in Maryland and it's my first year teaching in public schools. I have taught in private school for 3 years but I have to say that the two are vastly different. The expectations in public school are much higher for the teachers than in parochial school. There are constant meetings and data collection.... it can be quite a drag as a teacher. BUT public school has given me the sense of accomplishment and growth in the past few months more than I ever felt in private school for 3 years. I feel like the sky is the limit with my career and that my path is my choice. I hope that I have been able to translate that to my students....
